Mark H. Nathanson, D.O. — Primary Care in Aurora, CO
Mark H. Nathanson, D.O.
Dr. Nathanson was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and grew up in Denver attending George Washington High School. He completed his undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Colorado, and Medical school at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He then returned to Denver for internship and residency at St. Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Nathanson enjoys the balance of interpersonal and scientific aspects of family medicine. Areas of interest include: cardiovascular prevention, sports medicine, and diabetes care.

Other passions include family, the outdoors, and teaching.
Andrew G. Sarka, M.D. — Primary Care in Aurora, CO
Andrew G. Sarka, M.D.
Dr. Sarka attended the University of Florida College of Medicine from which he graduated in 1996. He had many special experiences during medical school including: a medical research trip to Cuba, a month spent working for an Indian Health Service Hospital in Alaska, and a month long medical mission trip to remote villages in Nicaragua. He moved to Denver in 1996 and did a residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital.

Dr. Sarka has worked at Aurora Family Practice Group since 1999. His medical interests include cardiovascular prevention, sports medicine, and the management of chronic illnesses such as hypertension, asthma and diabetes.

Melanie McCoy, PA-C

Melanie McCoy is from Long Beach, MS. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology Medical Sciences from Mississippi College in 2016. She attended the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant Program and graduated with a Master of Health Sciences in 2020. From 2013 to 2019, Melanie served on multiple medical mission trips to Haiti and Costa Rica, focusing on infectious disease prevention and health education in local communities. 


Her medical interests include diabetes education and prevention, infectious disease, health advocacy and literacy, and precepting PA students. 


She is passionate about cooking (especially Southern food), reading, watching and playing sports, traveling, and all things nerdy. 


She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certifying Physician Assistants and is a member of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Mallory Jurgens, PA-C

Mallory is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. After she enjoyed living in Colorado for a few years, she moved back to Ohio where she received her Master's in Physician Assistant Practice from Ohio University. After graduation, she moved back to Colorado and started working at Aurora Family Practice Group.

Mallory is passionate about many aspects of family practice, ranging from preventative medicine to chronic illness management including diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. She also enjoys helping medically complex patients and loves to spend time with all of her patients providing in-depth education, ensuring that they are well-equipped to be their own best advocates for receiving excellent care.

In her free time, Mallory enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and corgi named Pancake!

Emily Howard, PA-C
Emily is originally from New Mexico and has spent many years in Texas and Colorado. She graduated from St Francis University in Albuquerque, NM, in 2007 with a Master of Health Sciences. For over 10 years, Emily practiced at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Specialty Pediatrics and will always love taking care of the little ones. Since moving to Colorado in 2018 she has worked in Family Medicine, Rural Medicine, Urgent Care and had the pleasure of joining Aurora Family Practice Group in 2022. 

A Yoga Instructor since 2000, Emily has special interests in holistic health and mind-body healing modalities. She loves snowshoeing, cooking, gardening, playing music, spending time with family and friends (furr babies too!) and enjoying the absolute beauty of Colorado. 

She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certifying Physician Assistants and is a member of the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
